FURKAN SELMAN

Cannes Videographer

A personal videographer for the days around the Cannes Film Festival — the fitting, the arrival, the red carpet film where access allows, the dinner after it. One piece that looks the way the evening actually looked, plus vertical cuts you can post that night, when that’s arranged in advance.

Furkan Selman is a fashion filmmaker based in Istanbul who directs campaign and couture films for houses including RA Denim, Derimod and Dilek Hanif. A festival booking is the same craft pointed at one person’s week rather than at a collection.

What you get

  • Hero film, 60–90 seconds — the fitting, the arrival and the evening cut as one piece.
  • Vertical cuts for Instagram and TikTok, ready the same night when the schedule allows.
  • Getting-ready coverage — hair, make-up, the look going on, the room before you leave.
  • A lit portrait set-up in the suite before the car arrives, filmed and stilled.
  • Licensed music, cleared for the platforms the film is posted on.
  • Frame stills for you, your stylist and the house dressing you.

Who it’s for

Guests attending screenings and parties, talent walking a carpet, and the stylists and brands dressing them. Also jewellery and couture houses that lend for the festival and want the piece filmed on the person wearing it, in the room, rather than on a stand.

Logistics

Booked by the day or by a block of days, with travel from Istanbul arranged around your schedule. Filming happens wherever a camera is welcome — the suite, the villa, the terrace, the restaurant, the street outside — and the plan is written around the invitations you already hold. What happens on the carpet itself and inside the screenings is governed by the festival and its venues.

Independent videographer — access and accreditation depend on your invitation and venue rules.

Common questions

Can you film on the red carpet?

Only where the event permits it. The carpet, the Palais and the screenings run on the festival’s own rules and its own accredited photographers, so an outside camera goes exactly as far as your invitation and the venue allow. The stronger film is usually built from the hours you control — the fitting, the suite, the car, the dinner afterwards — with the arrival filmed from wherever access is granted.

Do you have festival accreditation?

No, and none is claimed here. Access depends on your invitation, and every room has its own rules about cameras. If the house hosting you can add a filming pass, say so at booking and the schedule is built around it; if not, the plan uses the private spaces you can invite a camera into.

How far in advance should I book?

Two to three months once the dates are fixed. The festival fortnight is the hardest stretch of the year in Cannes for a room, a car or a free evening, and travel from Istanbul is arranged around your schedule. Later requests are still worth sending — cancellations happen.

How quickly is the film ready?

A vertical cut can be back with you the following morning when that is agreed beforehand. The full film is normally delivered within a week of the last day, with one round of notes included. Files arrive as download links, sized for the platforms your team actually posts on.

Is anything shared without my permission?

No. Nothing is published, added to a showreel or sent to a brand without your written agreement, and personal footage stays off social entirely by default. If a sponsor or a house wants usage rights, that is settled in the booking rather than after the fact.

Do you work with the brand dressing me?

Often. A house lending a look usually wants specific material — the piece in motion, a clean portrait, verticals in its own format — and those go onto the shot list before the day. Coordinating with a stylist, a publicist or a photographer on the same schedule is routine, and it should not cost you time you would rather spend at the festival.
