FURKAN SELMAN

Fashion Week Videographer

Film coverage for designers, brands and guests during the European fashion weeks — Paris, Milan and London. Shot like a campaign, cut fast enough to post while the collection is still being talked about.

Furkan Selman is a fashion filmmaker based in Istanbul, working across Europe. He has directed runway and campaign films for RA Denim, Derimod and Dilek Hanif, and works as a fashion week videographer for a full season or a single show.

What you get

  • Hero film, 60–90 seconds — graded, sound-designed, delivered in 16:9 and 4:5.
  • Vertical cuts for Instagram and TikTok, captioned on request.
  • Backstage and front-row coverage — fittings, final looks, the room reacting.
  • Same-day selects: a short cut sent the night of the show when it is booked in advance.
  • Licensed music, or your own track cleared through your team.
  • Frame stills pulled from the film for press and social use.

Who it’s for

Designers showing a collection, and brands running an activation around the shows. Also editors, creators and guests who want the week filmed properly rather than collected in phone clips. It suits people who already know what the film is for — a campaign rollout, a press kit, a launch — and want one person responsible for delivering it.

Logistics

Based in Istanbul, travelling for each season. Book early: the calendar fills as soon as the show schedules are published, and venue accreditation usually closes weeks before the first look walks. Access is the client's to arrange — passes, house rules and what may be filmed backstage are set by the show, not by the crew. Once the passes are confirmed, one call is normally enough to agree the shot list and the delivery dates.

Common questions

Do you film individual guests, or only shows?

Both. A guest booking is usually a two- to four-hour block — getting ready, the arrival, and the show itself where your seat allows filming. It is scheduled and quoted separately from a designer’s runway package, so it can sit around plans that are already fixed.

How far in advance should I book?

Six to eight weeks before the season is comfortable; four still works. Inside two weeks it depends on what is already in the calendar and on flights, so it is worth asking rather than assuming. Accreditation deadlines are usually the tighter constraint, not the camera.

Do you travel with a team?

Most weeks are shot solo. One person moves faster in a backstage corridor and is easier to get through a door. When a show needs two angles or an edit turned around overnight, a second operator or an editor is added — agreed in the booking, not improvised on the day.

How and when is the film delivered?

Selects can go out the same night when that is agreed in advance. The hero film usually arrives within seven to ten days of the final show, with one round of notes included, and the vertical cuts come in the same delivery. Everything is sent as download links, in the formats your team posts in.

Who handles music licensing?

Tracks are sourced from commercial libraries and licensed for the platforms the film will be posted on, with the licence documents handed over alongside the edit. If your team already has a track in mind, send it early — clearing a commercial release takes longer than cutting the film.

Can you work alongside our photographer and PR team?

Yes, and during show week that is the norm. Call sheets and shot lists get shared beforehand so nobody ends up in anyone else’s frame. Nothing is posted, shown or sent on before the collection is public — the material stays with you until you release it.
